Might this be the one?

I'm talking about my 3rd fill, that is.

I got .3 of a cc in yesterday, brining me up to 4.8. Doesn't seem like much, does it?

After my fill, I went to the airport to wait for my flight (I fly from Omaha to Denver for my fills). I got myself some KFC popcorn chicken, which is the exact same thing I got after my last fill. I got the individual size both times. After my last fill, I had no problems getting through it. Maybe I had to go a little slower, but more or less ate the whole thing, no problem.

Now yesterday, I got the same thing, and could only eat about 1/2 of it before I started getting full. I put it away, and finished it about 2-3 hours later (I was at the airport for a long time, more on that in a bit). I don't know if I was truly hungry when I finished it, but I really didn't want to throw out the rest. Yesterday, I was thinking, "hmm, maybe I have a little restriction."

So I finished that probably around 8pm. I got home and went to bed, didn't have anything else to eat after my fill, even though I didn't make it to bed until almost 3 am (again, more on that later). So I was awake for a long time after my last meal. I did get hungry, but not enough to do anything about it. I was too tired.

So I get up this morning, and just start in on cleaning the house. I didn't even try breakfast, because I wasn't really hungry. At about 10:15 (so more than 12 hours after supper) I finally was hungry enough to need to make something. I tossed about a dozen little smokies in a bowl with some BBQ sauce and nuked 'em. It took me half an hour to eat, and I think I ate 6 or 7 of them. I just couldn't do any more. And honestly, I probably should have done 5 or 6, because I have a little ache between my shoulder blades. That's too full, right?

So is that restriction? I guess it's hard to tell, because I'm not even 24 hours into this fill. I guess I'll see how long these little smokies hold me over.

I think it's apparant though that I won't be able to eat my 60 grams of protein now. I'll have to start busting out the supplements. I haven't needed them for so long because I've been able to eat my protien on most days.

So let's talk about my day yesterday:

I left the house at 6:15 am. By the time I got gas, drove to the airport, parked, waited for the shuttle, got inside, made it through security, it was about 7:40. We boarded at 7:50. That's cutting it a little too close for my liking, so I really should have left earlier, maybe 5:30 or 5:45. Otherwise known as way too friggin' early.

I get to Denver, take the shuttle to my rental, get all that taken care of, and then grab some breakfast. I'm not supposed to eat 4 hours before a fill, so I eat right when that 4 hour countdown begins. So I got my breakfast, then hung out in my rental reading for a few hours, waiting for my appointment. Because it was a rental, I idled the car that whole time for the air conditioning.

I go to my appointment, it takes 15 minutes, and then I head back to the airport. So I get back to there at about 3:30. My flight isn't scheduled to leave until 8:22, so I have a few hours. I got my popcorn chicken, worked through that slowly, and just read my book and hung out.

Then, my flight starts getting delayed. Evidently the plane that we needed was late leaving San Francisco, so we couldn't go anywhere until it got there. We ended up being about an hour late, but it was frustrating because they kept changing the time by 10 minutes. So you kept wondering how late it's gonna go.

We finally get left, and I land in Omaha right at midnight, central time. THEN, it takes 45 mintutes to catch a freakin shuttle to the parking lot. It was horrible service. It's a small airport, so there's no real organization, so when they have 100 people needing to go to the same spot, it takes 10 shuttle bus trips to get them there. And there's no sign that says, "stand here for shuttle bus to parking lot." You just stand on this 100 yard long island, and the bus stops anywhere along that island. So it was a total crap shoot as to whether or not you're standing in the right spot. Sure, you could run some people over as you try to get to the bus where ever it pulls up, but I'm not an a-hole, so I didn't.

So I finally get on the bus, but it takes forever to actually get out of the parking lot, because, you'll remember, there were a gazillion people who were also going to that parking lot, and the ONE attendant isn't moving too quickly at 1 am.

THEN, I actually have the hour drive home.

So that's how I end up with a 20 hour trip for a 15 minute fill appointment.

Methinks I need to get serious about finding a local doctor.

  2. I think you need a local fill doc too! That sounds like a big pain.

  3. I'm going for a nap now! That is some long trek. My doc is 100 miles away and I thought that was bad. Actually, if I want to be technical, my surgeon was 3,000 miles away in Mexico so I had to find a doc closer to home. good luck finding one.
