I had no idea it would be such a pain to find. I thought I would go to the store, get the flavorless stuff, mix it into a glass of water, and it wouldn't change at all. I guess that's ignorant of me.
But there's that one Benefiber (I think) commercial where they mix it into a glass of water, and it totally disappears, and it looks just like a glass of water. I thought that's what I'd be getting.
Now I have to scramble.
I'm going to order the sample pack of PURE from the bariatriceating.com website, and I think I'm also going to try the Unjury.
Thoughts?
We leave tomorrow, so I'm going to have to have my neighbors get my packages from my front door. Also, this means that I have no protein lined up for immediately after surgery. They told me I won't need it for a few days, but I wanted to be ready to go.
Dang it!
*UPDATE*
I just ordered the PURE flavorless stuff from bariatriceating.com. I talked to someone there for 1/2 an hour, she thinks it'll fit my needs. Unfortunately, it takes 5 days to ship, so I won't have anything in Denver with me. I'm not supposed to do protein during clear liquids (days 1 and 2) but I'm supposed to start protein when I start full liquids on day 3. So I'll need to find something for Saturday only, as we'll be home on Sunday, and my PURE should be here by then.
I'm sure hoping that's not nasty!

Did you check with your bariatric office to see if they have samples? My nutritionist gave us a couple of samples at one of our classes. Good luck with everything.
ReplyDeleteI have a case of IsoPure clear liquid protein drinks. I really didn't like them but I know a lot of people love them and they really are a great source of protein for the clear liquid phase. If you want to give me your address, I will ship the case to you. It's sitting in my pantry taking up space. You can email me at catchytitlehereblog (a) gmail dot com
ReplyDeleteKristin.. I returned my Isopure (or whatever that was) to GNC. Blech.
ReplyDeleteAnd Kim... I am going to be in Denver on Thursday/Friday and could bring you some of the product I used. It's not commercially available but Paula said it was fine for me to use.
Again, I know I'm a complete internet stranger, but I could get some product to you (via your hubby at your hotel on Thursday evening or Friday). Let me know!
Robin, what is it that you use? Does it taste horrible?
ReplyDeleteIf you want to bring some by, I definitely won't stop you!
We're staying at the Crestwood Suites of Denver-Aurora on Evans Ave in Aurora. Not sure if that's totally out of your way or not.
I emailed the office, and they will give me some free samples to try, so if you can't make it, I'll just live with what they give me. I'll only need it on Saturday, as that will be my first day of full liquids, and then I'll be home to my PURE on Sunday.
You guys are so great. Thanks for helping me out!
Kim, I FedEx'ed the IsoPure to you today. I'm not sure when you'll get it but if it isn't there by Monday or Tuesday be sure to let me know. I have a tracking number somewhere in my purse. I did find it a bit more palatable when I mixed it with water - the flavor wasn't so syrupy.
ReplyDeleteKim.. what I used was a meal replacement product from HNT www.myhealthone.com
ReplyDeleteI'll carry some along with me for you.
Well Kim, your hotel is .6 miles from mine. I'm staying at the Comfort Inn on Iliff. I must be blogger challenged because I can't figure out how to send you a private email. If you want to contact me, my email is robinann at gmail.com.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck to you on Thursday.
