but I can't figure out when I'm hungry. I'm sitting here typing with my tummy growling, but I seem to have a pain in my chest. I feel like if I eat, it'll be too much (I had a yogurt about an hour ago) and the pain in my chest will be worse. But, I don't exactly want to go to bed starving, either. I just don't know if I'm starving.
Am I still messed up because I'm only 5 days from surgery? I feel pretty normal, except for the fact that I don't know how to tell if I'm hungry.

it took me about a week to week & 1/2 before i could tell if i was hungry or not! my stomach was making some CRAZY noises! just keep drinking your water :-)
ReplyDeleteSame with me. I have no idea what hunger is until I have a meltdown with my DH. Then I tell him he has to feed me. I get a pain in my L shoulder now post-op after I eat or hours later when I am hungry.
ReplyDeleteI think the growling stomach comes from it "shrinking" because you are on restricted calories. It was so used to solid food and now you are only putting in liquids. We never really learned what hunger was so it is ok to figure it out over the rest of your life with the band!
I had that gurgling/growling in my stomach, too. My best suggestion is to keep trying to drink/eat little bits at a time, just to keep some nutrients in you, but don't push yourself! Oh and take your vitamins!!
