NSV! and Restriction!

I'm gonna call this my first NSV, because I've been looking forward to it.

See my ticker above? ^ My current weight no longer interferes with my starting weight. Cool, huh? That's 10 lbs down.

I think I'm starting to see what this "restriction" business is all about. All day yesterday, I was extremely bloated. Thanks to Stephanie's advice, I started using a heating pad last night on my tummy. It has really released the gas pains. I've been doing that off and on throughout today, too.

Today for lunch, I felt that because the gas pains are being handled by the heating pad, perhaps I could try some real lunch.

So, I made some super yummy potato soup for the girls and I. A few weeks back, I had purchased some larger ramekins to use for my meals - they hold maybe 1/2 a cup. Well, I filled one of those about 1/2 full, melted some shredded cheese in it, then placed it in the freezer for it to cool down. I sat down with the girls, had my bowl of soup, and repeated the process - 1/2 bowl of soup, melt cheese, freeze for a bit, eat soup with girls. So all together, I probably had about 1/2 a cup of soup, plus the bit of cheese melted in.

I am stuffed! I can't believe how much this has filled me up. And I didn't even come close to using a cracker. In the old days, if I had soup without crackers or bread, I wouldn't even be close to satisfied. But now I feel really good! I had a normal, everyday food, and just got full off of a very small amount.

I realize this probably won't last much longer, but now that my tummy isn't aching from gas pains, I see how this Lapband may actually work.

Woot!

  1. Yay!! That is such a great feeling, too bad it doesn't last forever. Well, at least until we get to that sweet spot! I'm glad that you're feeling better!

  3. That's so very cool! I like the idea. And maybe it won't last forever, but eventually the fills will get you back to this! Enjoy it while you have it!
